Privacy and KVKK Notice
This notice concerns the journal platform at www.anatolianstudies.com.
This notice describes the current technical data flow and requires validation by legal counsel and the data controller before production launch. Any processing that relies on explicit consent requires a separate, freely given consent mechanism.
Account data
The platform stores the name, email address, profile information you provide, account role, and authentication records needed to operate your account. Passwords are stored as hashes. Essential session cookies support login and protect authentication requests.
Google sign-in
If you choose Google sign-in, the platform receives your Google account identifier, name, email address, email verification status, and profile image. These data link or create your journal account and let you sign in. This integration requests only basic identity permissions, not Gmail, Drive, Calendar, or other Google content. Google authentication credentials are processed on the server. You can revoke Google's access from your Google Account settings; revocation does not itself delete your journal account.
Journal workflow
Manuscripts, author details, review reports, editorial decisions, and correspondence are processed to administer submissions and peer review. Access depends on the user's role and assignment. Published article content and its author metadata are public; private submission files are access controlled.
Service providers
The platform uses Vercel for hosting and file storage, Neon/PostgreSQL for its database, Resend for transactional email, and Google for optional sign-in. These services process data needed for their functions. Hosting and security systems may process request metadata, including IP addresses, to operate the service and limit abuse.
Retention and requests
Account and journal records are retained while needed for account operation and editorial administration. Requests to access, correct, or delete account data can be sent to the contact below. Editorial and published records may need separate assessment to preserve the scholarly record. No automatic deletion deadline is promised by this notice.
