Author Guidelines

Manuscript publication and submission requirements.

Before submission, manuscripts are expected to satisfy the following requirements for scope, scholarly structure, ethical disclosures, and file preparation.

Scope and originality

The manuscript must directly address Anatolian culture, music, oral history, ritual, performance, archives, or cultural transmission.

The submission must be unpublished and not under consideration by another journal.
It should offer an original research question, method, or source contribution.
Work derived from a thesis or conference paper must be identified on the title page.

Language and article types

The journal publishes in Turkish and English. Original research articles, reviews, book reviews, and field notes are considered for publication.

The journal's central focus is research on Anatolian music culture and folklore.
Research in anthropology, ethnography, sociology, history, art history, cultural geography, and archaeology in the context of Anatolian culture is also accepted.
Manuscripts should use clear scholarly language and comply with the principles of academic publishing.

Files and anonymisation

Because review is double-blind, the main manuscript file must not reveal author identity.

Upload the main text as an editable DOCX file.
Remove names, affiliations, acknowledgements, and identifying file properties from the anonymous manuscript.
Provide names, affiliations, ORCID records, contact details, and contribution statements in a separate title-page file.

References, tables, and images

Authors are responsible for reference accuracy and permission to reproduce third-party material.

Prepare in-text citations and references in APA 7 style.
Number tables and figures and include titles, sources, and explanatory captions.
Submit high-resolution images as separate files with all required publication permissions.

Ethical principles and plagiarism policy

The journal is committed to impartial, ethical, and reliable scholarly publishing. It applies zero tolerance to all forms of plagiarism, copying, and academic misconduct.

Ethics approval must be obtained and documented in the manuscript for studies involving field research, surveys, interviews, or other human-participant elements.
Every submission undergoes preliminary screening with licensed plagiarism-detection software before peer review.
Excluding references, total similarity is expected to remain below 15%, with similarity to any single source not exceeding 3%.

Review and revision

Submissions within scope enter double-blind peer review after preliminary assessment by the Editorial Board.

Each manuscript is evaluated by at least two independent specialists; a third review may be sought when necessary.
Reviewers conduct their assessments objectively, confidentially, and with scholarly impartiality.
The Editorial Board makes the final publication decision based on scholarly merit, originality, and ethical principles.
