About the Journal
Journal of Anatolian Culture Studies (JACS) is an international peer-reviewed journal published twice a year, in June and December. The journal publishes in Turkish and English.
The journal aims to document, analyse, and bring international visibility to Anatolia's tangible and intangible cultural heritage. Its central focus is Anatolian music culture and folklore, while it also welcomes interdisciplinary studies directly related to Anatolian culture.
Articles are freely accessible from publication without subscription, payment, or registration barriers. The journal charges no fee to authors for submission, evaluation, acceptance, or publication.
After review by the Editorial Board, submissions are evaluated by at least two specialists and, when necessary, by a third reviewer. Publication is subject to the Editorial Board's final approval.
Journal Policies
The journal accepts original research articles, reviews, book reviews, and field notes. Its main focus is music culture and folklore, while anthropology, ethnography, sociology, history, art history, cultural geography, and archaeology directly related to Anatolian culture are also within scope.
All manuscripts undergo double-blind peer review, with author and reviewer identities kept confidential. Each manuscript is evaluated by at least two independent specialists; a third review may be sought when necessary.
Ethics approval is required for qualitative or quantitative research involving human participants, field research, surveys, or interviews, and must be documented in the manuscript. Authors are responsible for originality, reviewers for confidentiality and impartiality, and editors for scholarly merit and independent decisions.
The journal is a fully open access journal that embraces the principles of the Budapest Open Access Initiative. Published articles are freely accessible, and no fee is charged to authors for submission, evaluation, acceptance, or publication.
Reuse conditions will be set out in the open licence statement published for articles. The licence choice and copyright arrangement will be finalised by the publisher before the first issue is published.
The status of ISSN, DOI, archiving, and indexing will be updated publicly. Services in application or evaluation stages are not presented as confirmed indexing records.
The platform provides core surfaces for manuscript drafting, author submission, editorial workflow, reviewer assignment, and issue/archive management. Official journal identity, ISSN, trademark, and indexing applications remain publisher or journal-owner responsibilities.
