About the Journal
Journal of Anatolian Culture Studies (JACS) is an open access, international peer-reviewed journal publishing manuscripts written in Turkish or English. The interface is available in Turkish and English; articles are not translated and each is published in its submission language.
The journal aims to document, analyse, and bring international visibility to cultural heritage. It welcomes interdisciplinary research across the fields of music and folklore.
Articles are freely accessible from publication without subscription, payment, or registration barriers. The journal charges no fee to authors for submission, evaluation, acceptance, or publication.
After review by the Editorial Board, submissions are evaluated by at least two specialists and, when necessary, by a third reviewer. Publication is subject to the Editorial Board's final approval.
Journal Policies
The journal welcomes interdisciplinary research across music and folklore. It accepts original research articles, reviews, book reviews, and field notes.
All manuscripts undergo double-anonymous peer review. After reports from at least two independent reviewers, the editor records an accept, minor revision, major revision, or reject decision. A third review may be sought when necessary.
Authors are responsible for originality, accurate citation, data integrity, authorship contributions, funding, and conflict-of-interest disclosures. Research requiring ethics approval must disclose the committee, date, and decision number; otherwise, a reasoned declaration is provided.
Authors submit an original and accurate record; reviewers assess only work within their expertise, confidentially, impartially, and on time; editors make non-discriminatory decisions, manage conflicts of interest, and protect review confidentiality.
The journal is a fully open access journal that embraces the principles of the Budapest Open Access Initiative. Published articles are freely accessible, and no fee is charged to authors for submission, evaluation, acceptance, or publication.
Copyright transfer is handled through the Copyright Transfer and Author Declaration Form signed by all authors. Upload the signed form at submission; the online declaration does not replace it. Articles are published under the Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial 4.0 International licence, permitting non-commercial sharing and adaptation with appropriate attribution.
Every submission is screened for similarity. Excluding the bibliography, quoted passages, and small matches, total similarity must not exceed 15%, and a single-source match must not exceed 2%. Unattributed block copying is grounds for rejection regardless of the percentage.
Reasoned appeals and complaints go to the editorial office and are reviewed independently where possible. Limited errors receive a public correction; serious reliability concerns receive a permanent, reasoned retraction notice.
The status of ISSN, DOI, archiving, and indexing will be updated publicly. Services in application or evaluation stages are not presented as confirmed indexing records.
